A készülék kalibráció nélkül is tovább használható, de a pontossága nagymértékben romlik. Akár már az egymást követő méréseknél is eltérést mutathat a készülék ugyanannál az embernél. Ez természetesen nem azt jelenti, hogy elromlott a készülék, csupán azt, hogy a használat során elállítódott és kalibrációra szorul.
